Thank-Yous
Dear IEBW Local 499,
Thank you for your donation of $2,838.00 received on 10.14.24 to the Des Moines Ronald McDonald House. It truly makes a difference for the families throughout Central Iowa.
Donations like yours allows us the opportunity to identify, improve and expand services for families traveling to Des Moines to seek critical medical care not found in their home communities.
Your support helps families like the Greene family from Chicago, IL who spent 60 nights at Ronald McDonald House inside MercyOne Children's Hospital while their daughter spent time in the NICU after she was born at 28 weeks.
"RMH has been such a huge blessing! Coming from out of state, we had no idea staying here was even an option until the hospital social worker referred us. The RMH staff has been so welcoming and has helped make this our home away from home. RMH has also given us a sense of community as we have gotten to know other NICU families facing similar medical situations. - Valerie Greene
With the help of the community, we do whatever we can to give families one less thing to worry about. Families don't have to ask. "Where will I sleep so I don't have to be away from my child?" Or "How can I afford a hotel room and food?" Your support does make a difference helping us help the over 550 families we serve each year.
With Gratitude,

Dear Local 499,
On December 15, 2023 we had the largest turnout ever for assembling our Holiday Baskets. All of us from South Central Iowa Federation of Labor Executive Board and the Community Service Committee, we can't thank you enough. Without the generous contributions, the donated time and efforts from so many people this event could never have been as successful as it was.
The Basket event was held at DMARC in Des Moines. Their help and cooperation in ordering the food for 300 baskets and in suppling us the space to assemble them was greatly appreciated. We look forward to working with them again in 2024. Also, to UAW Local 450 for loaning us the use of their tables, once again, thank you.
From the entire SCIFL staff we want to wish each of you a Safe, Healthy, Happy and Prosperous New Year. We look forward to working and seeing all of you in 2024.
